The Middle SERIES Finale Review

I just watched The Middle's SERIES Finale and it was so beautiful. I have been a huge fan of this show for a long time. It's been around for 9 years, though I believe I discovered it 5 years ago. I LOVED how this show portrayed a low-income class family which I could relate to. I also loved how the kids were all so different but for some reason, I felt like I could relate to all three. I am dramatic and self-ish like Axl, I am sentimental and unlucky like Sue, and I am a nerd and a weirdo like Brick. The Middle has been a great television show and I am sad to see it end. (even though, it had to end some time!)

The series finale was beautiful. I loved Sue and Sean getting together. I loved them leaving the blue bag. That touching moment between Axl, Sue, and Brick in the car the night before was beautiful. It really seemed like Axl and Sue were crying in real life rather than being scripted. And that was so touching! There was some real emotion there. I loved Axl having three boys that would bother him in years to come. I loved Sue and Sean getting married. (However, I did not like the implication that they broke up, and got back together, and broke up, and got back together. I thought their love was real! The snow globe shattered which means it did its job and brought them together! That's the end of the story!)

Looks like Axl and Lexie got married, Sue and Sean got married, AND I believe Brick and Cindy got married. Brick became a very successful author. In the book signing, he was wearing a wedding band. YAY for Brick.

Also it was so CUTE how the show ended with Reverend Tim Tom corny song and Brick doing his little "tick," and whispering, "The Middle." What a perfect way to end the show.

It was a touching finale. This was great family to follow along! I recommend this show to anyone who wants a binge watch!

Every Song Off Julia Michaels's Album Nervous System RANKED [Track-by-Track Review]

Julia Michaels's Nervous System Review

To be honest, I hadn't paid much attention to Julia Michaels. I was never a fan of her song, "Issues," which I think is a bit boring (you can expect it to be low on this list). Recently, I discovered her song, "Heaven," from the new Fifty Shades soundtrack, aka, the only good single off that album. (For You by Liam Payne and Rita Ora is SUCH a snoozefest). So then I decided to check out her album and some of her interviews.

I like Julia Michaels. You can tell she thinks a lot. She is a good song writer, having written Bad Liar by Selena Gomez and Sorry by Justin Bieber. She seems to care about her craft and seems like a very intelligent person. She can admit her faults and the complexity of relationships. Though I just shaded, "Issues," I do like how she realizes she can't just complain about her boyfriends faults when she has many of her own. It shows maturity and self-awareness.

Anyway, let's get to the list:

7) Issues

Last on my list is "Issues," because I am not a fan of neither the lyrical content nor the music behind it. It's just not a catchy song. I'm not sure how this song charted so high on the Billboard Hot 100. I also think the lyrics are basic and sound like elementary school writing. "I got issues, you got them too." Julia repeats phrases like that through out the song. "When I'm down I get real down."

6) Worst In Me

This song is similar to, "Issues," where Julia highlights that both herself and her boyfriend have problems that could hurt the relationship. I like this song more than, "Issues," because the music and lyrical content both sound more serious. She isn't just saying, "Yeah we both suck," with upbeat music in the background like in, "Issues." This song sounds sad and deep like it should. It's still low on the list because when Julia says the worst in her doesn't want to solve their problems...my question is Why? What is holding you back? I still feel like something is unresolved here.

5) Don't Wanna Think

I like this song because it is very flow of consciousness when it comes to the lyrics. You can tell the lyrics are personal and they are coming from a place of emotion. The sad tone of the music matches the tone of the lyrics. "Swallow it down like a bitter pill/At least it'll taste better than this feeling will," is dramatic and sad and emotional and that's what I like about it

4) Just Do It

I make jokes sometimes

I like the music behind this song the best. It's got a good beat. In this one, Julia is telling her lover to just break up with her already - rip the band aid, so to speak. It's a solid song.

3) Make It Up To You

Similar to, "Just Do It," I like the music behind this song. It's a very suggestive song - letting the listener use their imagination when it comes to exactly how she will make it up to her lover. I think Julia Michaels shines when she is trying to be fun and sexy (which will be seen in the top songs in this list). This song also alludes to the same themes in songs like "Issues," and "Worst In Me," in that Julia thinks she has a lot of flaws.

"I wish I could be that tender, stable girl that you want but I am not." - Julia Michaels

"Actually, throughout my life, my two greatest assets have been mental stability and being, like, really smart." - Trump (Be more like Trump, Julia! [this is a joke xD])

2) Pink

Also another fun and sexy song! I love the music behind this one . I also think it's HILARIOUS. I like how Julia doesn't just spell things out for you. She makes you think. "There's no innuendos, it's exactly what you think / Believe me when I tell you that he loves the color pink."  It's a fun way of singing about vaginas, and that is new and creative so that's why this song is so high up on this list.

1) Uh Huh

This is the song that made me fall in love with Julia Michaels' work. I like how upbeat, fun, and flirty this song is. The music and lyrical content are superb. It really does a good job at describing a crush or an intense infatuation. I like the youthfulness and joy in this song. There is no, "yeah we have a lot of flaws and it sucks." It's just pure, unbridled joy, and that's why "Uh Huh," is my number one Julia Micahels' song.

BONUS SONG: Jump ft. Trippie Redd

This song also plays on the, "I have flaws" theme, but I really like it. You can tell by the music and the lyrics that she is trying to portray the intense emotions of always wanting to be with the other person despite what you know is good for you. I think Trippie Redd also does a good job. He, not only raps on the song, he also sorta sings in line with the song - and he has a good voice! I think this is a good collaboration and a good new song by Julia Michaels.

The Bathroom At A Party: An Original Poem

I try to be normal, chatting up a stranger,
I ask, "How do you do? How are you?"
Say the right words, make the right faces,
Is it working? Am I good at this?

My cheeks tire of being held
into different levels of appropriateness,
But I don't notice until I am alone,
and my face can be anything it wants to be.

The Bathroom At A Party,
I always find myself here,
The waves of fake hitting me all at once,
It is the only time at the party that I am me

Here I can wipe away the fake smile,
I can frown,
I can be who I actually am and not what I pretend to be.

Is all of this meaningless?
Spending time with people I'm not sure I like,
Small talk and boring activities .

But we were put on this planet
to CONNECT and to LOVE.

I have never been good at all that
I want to drink from the nectar
that is life. I want experience all that there is.

But this lack of connection is something that's missing.
And I try and I try, repeatedly,
going to parties and going to bathrooms
at parties, asking these same questions
over and over again.

I'll never have the answers,
But in my old age, I'll look back
on these days of youth,
remembering, with fondness, the day
I went to a hip party with cool people

But standing in front of the mirror,
in a bathroom at a party,
I swear I could find 100 better ways to spend my time.

Progressive Country Music - A *NEW* Blog Series

I'm starting a new blog series here at Me, Myself, & The Moon. You guys may be aware that my political leanings are more towards the left. Some could call my beliefs liberal or progressive. Although I grew up in a city environment, I do enjoy country music. I enjoy it even more when I can tell that the artist shares my beliefs.

Country music is a genre that is stereotypically conservative. In this blog series, I would like to highlight country music that goes against the grain.
